Cooper Hewitt
Cooper Hewitt is a dynamic design museum in New York that showcases a wide range of modern works—from iconic designers like Eames to bold brands like Flavor Paper. Despite its contemporary focus, the museum is housed in a historic, ornate building with red brick and a copper roof, creating a striking contrast between setting and content.
To reflect that juxtaposition, I designed a system that’s as adaptable as the museum itself. I chose a neutral grayscale palette with a warm tan accent—quiet enough to let the content lead but versatile enough to be elevated for exhibitions or seasonal moments. The design can blend into the background or stand out when needed, much like the museum’s evolving identity.
